This Sony laptop is made from hardware supplied by SGS, Alps Electric, Intel, Microsoft, Conexant, Texas Instruments, Ricoh and Marvell Technology. The Intel 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge System hardware is also found in 87 other systems. The Network hardware was made by Intel, called the golan pro wireless 3945abg device. As well as the Sony VGN-SZ2XRP C, Intel have made this device for use in 38 similar systems. The Biometric device is managed by fingerprint reader. Bluetooth controller alps ugpz6 is the device that controls the bluetooth.

The Graphics system makes use of the mobile 945gm gms 943 940gml express integrated device. The Hd audio is reported to use 3 different devices, the n10 ich 7 high definition controller, sigmatel high definition audio and the high definition audio.

Ieee 1394 runs on pcixx12 ohci compliant ieee 1394 host controller. The Imaging device is managed by r5u870 visual communication camera vgp vcc2. Network has golan pro wireless 3945abg and the 88e8036 pci e fast ethernet marvell.

The Pcmcia system makes use of the pcixx12 cardbus device. The Sony VGN-SZ2XRP CStorage device is named the 82801g ide ich7 and the 82801gbm ghm sata ide ich7.
