This Sony laptop is made from hardware supplied by nVidia, Internext Compression, NEC, Intel, ADMtek, Ricoh and Hewlett Packard. The Intel 82801 PCI Bridge System hardware is also found in 88 other systems. The IEEE 1394 hardware was made by NEC, called the upd72874 ieee1394 ohci 1 1 3 port phy link device. As well as the Sony PCV-RZ424, NEC have made this device for use in 4 similar systems. The graphics system uses two devices, the geforce fx 5600 nv31 and the itvc16 mpeg 2 encoder. Upd72874 ieee1394 ohci 1 1 3 port phy link is the device that controls the ieee 1394.

The Modem system makes use of the 82801eb er ac97 modem ich5 ich5r device. Multimedia runs on 82801eb er ac97 audio controller ich5 ich5r.

Network has an8515 ethernet and the 82562ez 10 100 ethernet. Rl5c475 is the device that controls the pcmcia. The Storage system makes use of the 82801eb er ide ich5 ich5r device.
