This Sony laptop is made from hardware supplied by Intel, Texas Instruments, Realtek, Conexant and Atheros. The Intel 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge System hardware is also found in 87 other systems. The IEEE 1394 hardware was made by Texas Instruments, called the pci7x20 1394a 2000 ohci two port phy link layer device. As well as the Sony PCG-F701, Texas Instruments have made this device for use in 24 similar systems. The graphics system uses two devices, the mobile 915gm gms 910gml express and the pci 7420 7620 cardbus 1394a 2000 ohci sd ms pro controller.

The Hd audio is reported to use 3 different devices, the 82801fb fbm fr fw frw high definition controller ich6, high definition audio and the high definition audio.

The Ieee 1394 system makes use of the pci7x20 1394a 2000 ohci two port phy link layer device. Network has ar5001x wireless and the 82562et ez gt gz pro 100 ve ethernet mobile lom. Pcmcia runs on pci7420 cardbus controller. The Storage device is managed by 82801fb fbm fr fw frw ide ich6.
