This Lenovo laptop is made from hardware supplied by Upek, AuthenTec, Broadcom, Intel, Conexant, Hewlett Packard, N-Trig, Ricoh, Lenovo, Ericsson and ATEN. The Intel Shiloh PRO Wireless 5100 AGN Network hardware is also found in 70 other systems. The Biometric hardware was made by AuthenTec, called the aes2810 device. As well as the Lenovo ThinkPad T400s, AuthenTec have made this device for use in 25 similar systems. The biometric system uses two devices, the biometric touchchip touchstrip fingerprint sensor and the aes2810.

Bluetooth enhanced data rate ii is the device that controls the bluetooth. The Graphics system makes use of the mobile 4 series chipset integrated device.

The Hd audio is reported to use 3 different devices, the conexant 20585 smartaudio hd, 82801i hd controller ich9 and the high definition audio. Human interface has wireless keyboard optical mouse receiver and the duosense transparent electromagnetic digitizer.

Ieee 1394 runs on r5c551 ieee 1394 controller. The Lenovo ThinkPad T400sImaging device is named the r5u877 integrated webcam and the integrated webcam. Thinkpad modem is the device that controls the modem. The Network is reported to use 4 different devices, the ultimate n wifi link 5300, f3507g mobile broadband module, 82567lm gigabit and the shiloh pro wireless 5100 agn. Pcmcia runs on rl5c476 ii. The Ports device is managed by mobile 4 series chipset amt sol redirection.

Sd host controllers has xd picture card controller and the r5c822 sd sdio mmc ms mspro host adapter. The Smart card readers system makes use of the r5c843 mmc host controller device. Storage runs on ich9m m e sata ahci.
