This Lenovo laptop is made from hardware supplied by Intel, nVidia, Realtek, Silicon Motion, Philips, D-Link and Broadcom. The Intel 82801 PCI Bridge System hardware is also found in 88 other systems. The Network hardware was made by D-Link, called the wireless g dwa 110 device. As well as the Lenovo IdeaPad Y550, D-Link have made this device for use in 8 similar systems. The graphics system uses two devices, the geforce 9300 ge g98 and the geforce gt 130m g96. The Hd audio is reported to use 3 different devices, the realtek high definition audio, 82801i hd controller ich9 and the nvidia high definition audio.

The Imaging system makes use of the usb composite device. Multimedia has 82801g ac97 audio controller ich7 family and the saa7160.

The Network is reported to use 4 different devices, the rtl8111 8168b pci express gigabit ethernet, wireless g dwa 110, shiloh pro wireless 5100 agn and the netlink bcm5784m gigabit ethernet pcie. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y550Storage device is named the n10 ich7 sata ide and the ich9m m e sata ahci.
