This IBM laptop is made from hardware supplied by Neomagic, Agere Systems, ESS Technology, Askey, Atheros, Texas Instruments, Silicon Motion and Intel. The Silicon Motion Flash Drive USB Flash Drive Storage hardware is also found in 136 other systems. The Network hardware was made by Atheros, called the ar5001x wireless device. As well as the IBM ThinkPad 390e, Atheros have made this device for use in 2 similar systems. The Graphics device is managed by magicgraph 256av nm2200. The IBM ThinkPad 390eModem device is named the mars 2 l56xm s winmodem 56k and the mars 2 l56xm s winmodem 56k.

The Multimedia system makes use of the es1969 solo 1 audiodrive device. Network has scientific atlanta webstar 2000 series cable modem and the ar5001x wireless.

Pcmcia runs on pci1251a. The Storage device is managed by flash drive usb flash drive.
