This Acer laptop is made from hardware supplied by Intel, Realtek, Creative Labs, Conexant and Texas Instruments. The Intel 82801 Mobile PCI Bridge System hardware is also found in 87 other systems. The Network hardware was made by Realtek, called the rtl 8139 8139c 8139c device. As well as the Acer Aspire 1642, Realtek have made this device for use in 12 similar systems. The graphics system uses two devices, the mobile 915gm gms 910gml express and the mobile 915gm gms 910gml express.

The Acer Aspire 1642Hd audio device is named the 82801fb fbm fr fw frw high definition controller ich6 and the high definition audio.

The Human interface system makes use of the notebook optical mouse device. Modem runs on hda cx11254 soft modem. Network has rtl 8139 8139c 8139c and the calexico2 pro wireless 2200bg. Pci1510 pc card cardbus is the device that controls the pcmcia.
