This Acer laptop is made from hardware supplied by Intel, Realtek, A4 Tech, Conexant and Texas Instruments. The A4 Tech Port Mouse Human Interface hardware is also found in 102 other systems. The Network hardware was made by Intel, called the calexico2 pro wireless 2200bg device. As well as the Acer Aspire 1640z, Intel have made this device for use in 62 similar systems. The graphics system uses two devices, the mobile 915gm gms 910gml express and the mobile 915gm gms 910gml express.

The Acer Aspire 1640zHd audio device is named the 82801fb fbm fr fw frw high definition controller ich6 and the high definition audio.

The Human interface system makes use of the port mouse device. Modem runs on hda cx11254 soft modem. Network has rtl 8139 8139c 8139c and the calexico2 pro wireless 2200bg. Pci1510 pc card cardbus is the device that controls the pcmcia.
